Membership Information & FAQ
Everything you need to know before applying to join Plan B Angling CIC.
Availability
Do you limit membership numbers?
Yes. We deliberately limit membership to avoid overcrowding, maintain reasonable availability of fishing spaces for members and guests, and preserve the environment and character of the fishery.
Current maximum membership: [Maximum Membership]
What happens if the fishery is full?
Applications are still accepted when the fishery is at maximum capacity.
Suitable applicants are added to the waiting list in the order their applications are received and are contacted as places become available.
There is normally a steady turnover of members, so waiting times may not necessarily be long.
Membership costs
Joining fee, payable before membership begins.
Annual membership fee.
Per month by Direct Debit.
When does membership start?
We do not operate a traditional fishing season. Membership starts from the date you join and continues until you cancel or your membership otherwise ends in accordance with the membership terms. There is no need to reapply each year.
Guests & fishing times
Can I bring a guest?
Yes. Membership includes a guest place, provided the guest is accompanied by the member. Other conditions apply, so members should always check the current lake rules.
Is night fishing allowed?
Yes. Night fishing is permitted throughout the year, subject to the current lake rules.
Catch and release
Plan B is a strictly catch-and-release fishery. Fish must not be removed from the water under any circumstances.
House pellets
Plan B supplies its own house pellets for members in 1 kg bags.
- small pellets around 2–3 mm
- medium pellets around 6–8 mm
- larger pellets of 10 mm+ in smaller quantities
The exact pellet sizes vary from year to year depending on what members most want to use. Use of Plan B house pellets is encouraged and preferred, but is not mandatory, subject to the lake rules.
Current price: [House Pellet Price per kg]
Visits & applications
Can I visit before applying?
Yes. Visits can usually be arranged before application, but because access to the fishery is secure and restricted to members only, visits must be arranged in advance and hosted or escorted.
Does submitting an application guarantee membership?
No. Submitting the application form is an application only and does not guarantee that a membership place will be offered.
What happens after I apply?
Your application will be reviewed. If a place is available and your application is approved, you may be offered membership. If the fishery is at capacity, suitable applicants may be added to the waiting list until a place becomes available.
